Jose Parica avenged an early loss to Tom D'Alfonso to win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour event at Ultimate Billiards in Berlin, CT.
Parica lost 9-6 to D'Alfonson on Sunday in the match before the hot-seat match. Also losing in that round, was Tony Robles who dropped a 9-7 decision to Ryan McCreesh. This left D'Alfonso playing McCreesh on the winners side for the hot-seat. The match went to hill-hill and looked to be over when McCreesh locked D'Alfonso up in what looked like a game ending position, but D'Alfonso came with an amazing kick shot and took the set 9-8.
Meanwhile on the one loss side, Parica sent Robles to the bleachers with a 9-7 victory. Parica would still have to get by McCreesh to earn a rematch with D'Alfonso and 'earn it' he did. The match went hill-hill with Parica taking the win with a 9-Ball break.
The true double elimination finals saw Parica take out D'Alfonso 9-3 in the first set, but D'Alfonso was not ready to go home just yet. The final set was a close one with both players fighting for every game they won. It looked to be anyone's match at the 7-7 mark, but Parica dug down and won the last two games for a 9-7 win.
Parica earned $2,700 in prize money, while D'Alfonso settled for $1,800. McCreesh and Robles filled out the top four spots.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at The Drexeline Billiard Club in Drexel Hill, PA next weekend for their next event.
