Alex Pagulayan has defeated Ismael Paez 11-4 in the finals to win the 9-ball division of the Hard Times Summer Jamboree at Hard Times Billiards in Sacramento, California.
Pagulayan was undefeated and dominated each match he was in. He defeated Charlie Bryant 9-5 for the hot-seat and than was the closest that any opponent got to beating him.
Paez defeated Bryant 9-8 on the one-loss side, but he did not have an answer for Pagulayan in the finals.
Pagulayan collected $5000 for the win, while Paez settled for $2500 for second. Bryant and Nick Kruger filled out the top four spots.
Earlier in the week, Santos Sambajon went undefeated to win the one-pocket division at Hard Times. He collected $2500 for the win, but was upended by Josh Johnson in the 9-ball division to ruin Sambajon's chances of collecting the $1000 bonus for winning both divisions.
