Francisco Bustamante and Efren Reyes
The field at the Second Mannny Pacquiao Cup Doubles event has been whittled from sixty nine teams to just thirty two, and the event has now shifted into a single elimination bracket.
With the first round of the single elimination bracket in play, two marquee teams have been shown to the door. Thorsten Hohmann & John Morra, runners up in this event back in September, as well as third place finishers Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante have been eliminated from the event.
Hohmann and Morra dropped a 9-5 decision to Pin Yo Ko & Ping Chung Ko, while Reyes and Bustamante lost to Mika Immonen and Rodney Morris 9-4.
Other marquee teams advancing were reigning champions Jeffrey De Luna & Jeffrey Ignacio and Warren Kiamco & Edgie Geronimo.
The event is a 10-ball event, but is being played under 9-ball rules to assure no controversial decisions as there were in the singles event earlier this week.
