The twenty-eighth stop on the 2010-2011 Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was showcased in Sioux Falls, SD, on Saturday, February 5, at Dakota Cue Club. The $1,000 added event attracted a full sixty-four player field in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes. Danny Olson (Brookings, SD), rated a “9” on a regional handicap system used, captured the A-side finals by overwhelming Kurt Reichett [3] (Sioux Falls, SD) 9-1. Earlier in the A-side semis, Olson had trumped Jason Naglestad [6] (Sioux Falls, SD) 9-4, while Reichett upset Angel Lopez [7] (Sioux City, IA) 3-1.
On the B-side Chad Pew [7] (Sioux Falls, SD) was ousted at 7th place by Casey Moriarty [5] (Peosta, IA) 5-4, and he was joined in the final rankings by Barry Brown [4] (Tea, SD) who was eliminated by Jose Batista [6] (Sioux City, IA) 6-2. Angel Lopez and Casey Moriarty landed in 5th place at the hands respectively of Jose Batista 6-6 and Jason Nagelstad 6-2. Batista then relegated Nagelstad to 4th place by a 6-4 margin. In the B-side finals Kurt Reichett [3] upended Jose Batista [6] 3-2, giving Reichett another chance at Danny Olson in the tourney finals. The finals went to one set though, as Olson [9] outraced Reichett [3] on the hill 9-2 for the title !
