Sylver Ochoa avenged an early loss and won the Fast Eddie's 9-Ball Tour Stop at Fast Eddie's in Austin, Tx.
Ochoa lost to Robert Clark in the final eight on the winners side, but he was not done. Ochoa went to the one loss side rolled through Eric Aicinena 7-4, Charlie Bryant 7-5, Al Mason 7-5, Mario Juarez 7-3 and Dave Henson 7-1.
The opponent left for Ochoa was Clark, who had gone on to take the hot-seat after his earlier win over Ochoa.
The first set of the double elimination finals saw Ochoa take a hard earned 9-7 win and force a second set to determine a final winner.
Ochoa looked to be running away with the second set as he cruised to a quick 6-1 lead in the race to seven. Then it was Clark's turn to show that he wasn't ready to pack up his cue just yet. Clark won five straight games to tie the score at 6-6. Unfortunately for Clark, he would not be able to finish his comeback as Ochoa took the case game and won the final set 7-6.
The ladies division saw another player win from the one loss side. Amanda Lampert lost a hill-hill match to Christina Delagarza in the third round, but bounced back with wins over Sophie Lopez, Leslie Anne Rogers, Michelle Cortez, Kim Pierce and Delagarza to earn her shot against Helen Hayes in the finals.
A 7-6 win in the first set forced a second set that was also won by Lampert. This time by the score of 5-2.
