The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour was at one of the top pool rooms in the Chicago area, Palace Billiards, this weekend. Palace is home to 31 Gold Crown Tables and 12,000 square feet of room. This weekend, it was also home to 50 players taking their shot at the $1000 in added prize money.
Local player Noy Vichiensaen made his way to the hot-seat with a win over Gordy VanderVeer. Vanderveer then earned a rematch with Noy after eliminating Tom McCluskey on the one loss side. VanderVeer is easily one of the top ten players in the Chicago area, but he still couldn't stop Vichiensaen in the finals as Vichiensaen cruised to a 7-4 win. The four games that VanderVeer won were the most that any opponent scored against Vichiensaen all weekend.
Vichiensaen earned $950 for first, while VanderVeer settled for $600. McCluskey and Aaron Goodwin filled out the top four players.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will be at Gametime-Riptide in Greenville, SC on November 13th-14th for their next event.
