The Mezz 9 Pro-Am Tour made its way to Drexeline Billiards in Drexel Hill PA
on Sunday, Oct 3rd. Special thanks to Bob Maidhof for hosting the
event. A strong field came out to play including players like: Josh Brothers ,
Matt Krah, Bruce Nagle, Denise Reeve, Joey Testa and Shaun Dobson to name a
few.
Leading the top half of the bracket was Josh Brothers with wins over
Tony Long 7-5, Lou Loupy Patrikios 7-2, Steve Shaw 7-6 and Bruce Nagle
7-5. Leading the bottom half of the bracket was Matt Krah with wins
over Michael Praseutsy 7-3, Bill Smith Jr. 7-2 and Shaun Dobson 7-4.
Playing for the hot seat was Matt Krah vs Josh Brothers. This match was
all Josh Brothers, winning the match easily 7-1 and sending Krah to the
one loss side.
Before the finals there was a hoagie break contest between Josh Brothers and Jose Burgos. The contest was scheduled for three breaks apiece but it only to Jose Burgos two breaks to beat Josh Brothers and become hoagie champion.
In the finals it was Bruce Nagle vs Josh Bothers. Nagle would have to beat Brothers twice to win the event. The first set was all Nagle taking the lead early and never looking back, winning easily 7-4. The second set was like the first with Nagle pulling away to win 7-4 and to win the event.
