Action continued Saturday at the 16th Annual Music City Classic, held at JOB Billiards in Nashville, TN.
The main event winners side got down to two players as Shannon Daulton defeated Cliff Joyner 11-8 and Gabe Owen defeated Shawn Putnam 11-7. Daulton and Owen will face off for the hot seat on Sunday.
Both Putnam and Joyner won their next matches on the one-loss side as Putnam defeated Marcus Chamat 11-6 and Joyner defeated Johnny Archer 11-10. Archer had just defeated Jose Parica in an amazing match in the round before. Archer allowed Parica to the table once and won the match 11-0, before falling to Joyner. Putnam and Joyner will play each other on Sunday.
The ladies division got down to four players, with Helena Thornfeldt and Monica Webb ready to play for the hot seat on Sunday. This will be the third straight year that Thornfeldt and Webb have played for the hot seat. Webb won the event last year and Thornfeldt won it in 2001. The one-loss side is down to Nicole Mancini and Pam Bell.
The scotch doubles event finished on Saturday as the team of Scott Smith and Toni Tucker stunned the reigning champions Barry Emerson and Monica Webb. Smith and Tucker won the final match 5-1 to collect $1800 for first. Emerson and Webb settled for $600 in second place money.
The midnight madness event should have been renamed the 1AM madness event due to it's late start but eight players entered the $500 entry, single elimination, winner take all event. The event is still being played as of this time.
Brackets for all four events are online and being updated all weekend long.
