The 14th Annual Mosconi Cup gets underway on Thurday with Team USA attempting to retain the title that they have held for the last five years.
Team USA will feature US Open Champion Shane Van Boening, recent Florida Pro Tour Champion Rodney Morris, Johnny Archer, Earl Strickland and Corey Deuel.
Team Europe will counter with World Champion Daryl Peach, Ralf Souquet, Niels Feijen, Konstantin Stepanov and Tony Drago.
The festivities got underway on Wednesday with a dinner where sponsors and media were treated to a highlight package from the 2006 event as well as speeches by each captain.
The online bookmakers at Stanjames.com have Team USA as a 4-11 favorite. We will see if they live up to those odds when the event gets underway on Thursday. Thursday play will feature a five on five team event, followed by doubles, singles and doubles matches before a final singles match of the day.
