The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour drew a field of 54 players to Golden Cue Billiards in Albany NY for the $3000 added Northeast 9-Ball Open XIX.
Early favorite Dennis Hatch fell early and ended up settling for 7th place. Mike Zuglan and Tim Parisian rode the winners bracket to the match for the hot-seat, which was won by Zuglan 9-5.
Thing got worse for Parisian in his next match as Danny Hewitt handed him a 9-1 loss to force him to settle for 3rd place.
The final match between Zuglan and Hewitt started out close with both players tied at 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3. From there, Hewitt won five straight racks to get to the hill at 8-3. The five racks would not be enough though, as Zuglan won the next six racks for the 9-8 victory.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ on April 28th and 29th for their next event. Tour director Mike Zuglan says entries are going fast for the tour finale at Turning Stone Casino on August 16th - 19th. Interested players are urged to contact Zuglan at 518-356-7163.
