Mike “Captain Hook” Sigel is touring the country on a promotional tour of his new league, the Global Pool Players Association, or GPPA. “I’m visiting each area, spending a few days, sometimes a week, meeting the players and explaining the differences between our new league and every other league. One of the major differences is my handicap system. The Sigel Handicap System is the most fair system ever created and allows almost anyone to compete on an equal level regardless of previous experience,” explains Mike. “In addition, any five players can make a team regardless of ability and that team can stay together as long as they would like. A player does not need a particular handicap to make a team.”
This week Mike will be at Maxamillians Billiards on November 6 at 7 p.m. - 315 Middlesex Road, Tyngsboro, MA 01879; on the 7th he will be at Yale Billiards at 7 p.m., 950 Yale Avenue, Wallingford, CT, 06492 and on the 9th he will be at Jillian's Worcester, 315 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605. For more information, or to see if Mike is coming to your area soon, check the GPPA website regularly at www.gppaleague.com.
Currently there are twenty league operators, mostly in major cities throughout the country. “We’re still looking for league operators in cities such as Sacramento, California, Fresno, California, Green Bay, Wisconsin and parts of Iowa and Indiana,” states Mike. “This is a major opportunity for league operators who want to be part of a league that offers full transparency both to the league operators and the players. Everyone will be able to review the stats and placement in the ranks. We also are giving back to the players – providing real prize money with a $250,000 first place guarantee.”
