We have a new champion at Pool Paradise, Mike Fisher played flawlessly and went undefeated till the end?? Congratulations Mike, well done!
Our field was 38 strong and it was our regulars that shined this evening. We kept the event to a one dayer to avoid the extra trip the next day so it was a late match for the finals (hill-hill also)
The "hot seat" match was between Mike Fisher (8+) vs. Jason Holdaway (9) and Mike dominated the match winning 9-0.
On the one loss side in the 7/8 bracket it was Rob Brandenburg (8+) vs. Morel Leka (5+) and Rob moved on after a hill-hill win over Morel.
In the lower bracket it was Derrek Holden (7) vs. Al Lougheed (8+) and Derrek prevailed hill-hill over Al.
Next was the 5/6 bracket and Rob Brandenburg (8+) rolled over Scott McDonald with an 8-3 score.
Rob Hall (8+) over Derrek Holden (7) with a 9-0 win.
This sets the match between "The Rob's"- Rob Hall (8+) vs. Rob Brandenburg (8+) and Rob wins 8-2 (Rob Hall that is), Brandenburg settles for 4th.
Rob Hall (8+) vs. Jason Holdaway (9) and it goes 9-7 to Rob.
Rob Hall then got a trip back to the A side where Mike Fisher was waiting. Fisher battled Hall to the hill and took the stop for the first time going undefeated.
Kenny Chen was away at this stop but I have to mention Cory Khuel, the assistant manager, stepping up to the plate with honors on behalf of Kenny. Thank you Cory and the staff from Pool Paradise for making the stop so pleasurable. (Nothing short of usual I may add)
