The Seminole Florida Pro Tour event at Bank Shot Billiards in Jacksonville, Florida ended after seeing some great Sunday matches. The day started with twelve players:
Winner's side of the bracket:
Tony Crosby/John Ditoro
Rafael Martinez/Neil Fujiwara
One-loss side:
Robb Saez/Jason Richko
Mike Davis/Stevie Moore
Corey Deuel/Louis Ulrich
Paul Song/Adam Wheeler
With scores of 8-4 over Tony Crosby and a hot seat match against Rafael Martinez ending on the hill (8-7), John DiToro waited for his opportunity to take the event win. While on the one-loss side, Louis Ulrich defeated Corey Deuel 8-5 and Paul Song 8-6, only to be sent packing by Neil Fujiwara with a score of 8-5.
But, the story of the day would have to be Mike Davis. After losing his first round to John DiToro on Friday night, he has been a consistent threat to any that crossed his path on the one-loss side – today was no different as he was victorious over Stevie Moore 8-6, Robb Saez 8-5, Tony Crosby 8-4, Neil Fujiwara 8-1, and in the semi-final round Rafael Martinez to get to the finals against the same guy that put him on the one-loss side, John DiToro.
No telling if Davis had revenge on his mind in the finals, but the extended race to 9 saw Davis in complete control and cruising to a 9-2 win for first place and $3500 in prize money.
