The Women's division of the Planet Pool Tour kicked at Drexeline Billiards in Drexel Hill, Pa on Sunday April 17th with a smaller than normal field. Top players in the field included Megan Smith, Nicole Vincent, Jackie Duggan, Megan Fort and Aubrey James.
Nicole Vincent advanced from the top half of the brackets with two close wins. She defeated Sharon O'Hanlon 6-4 and then Jackie Duggan 6-5.
Meanwhile, on the bottom half of the bracket, Megan Smith was cruising through the field with a 6-0 win over Megan Fort and a 6-2 win over Pauline Mattes.
The match for the hot-seat saw Smith winning a hard fought 6-4 match against Vincent and Vincent made her way to the one loss side.
Vincent's stay on the left side of the board was a short lived one, as she quickly eliminated Judie Wilson 5-1 and headed back to the right side of the board for a final match against Smith.
Playing for the hot seat was Megan Smith Vs Nicole Vincent this was a good match but when its al said and done it was Megan Smith coming away with the win 6-4 sending Nicole Vincent to the one lost side.
The first match of the double elimination finals was the only match was Smith won a nailbiting 6-5 match to take first place.
Smith pocketed $400 for first, while Vincent settled for $250 in second place prize money.
