Keene, NH – The 3rd annual NH State 8-Ball Championship Tournament was held at McCue's Billiards & Sports Lounge on Emerald St. in Keene on Sunday, September 21, 2007. The tournament is designed to raise money for local charities. This year's beneficiary is the Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities in Keene, NH.
The tournament hosted 32 players from five states, beginning at 12 Noon and ending at 10:15 PM on Sunday. Winning the top prize of $1000 was DJ Hopkins from Fitzwilliam, NH. The second prize, $500 was taken by Paul Tocci of Nashua, NH. Mike Lewis of Winchester, NH captured the third prize of $250.
Tournament sponsors were The Mountain Corporation, Clarke Distributors, Inc. and Border Billiards. McCue's Billiards donated a cue stick for the event's raffle. The First Prize trophy was provided by Engrave-It/Awards of Keene.
The tournament raised $1,000 for Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities. Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities. According to Tom Nephew, McCue's owner, “This years tournament was a tremendous success. Once again we were able to give back to the community that gives us so much support while bringing a professionally run tournament to downtown Keene.”
