Keene, NH – The 3rd annual NH State 8-Ball Championship Tournament was held at McCue's Billiards & Sports Lounge on Emerald St. in Keene on Sunday, September 23, 2007. The tournament is designed to raise money for local charities. This year's beneficiary is the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH.
The tournament hosted 40 players from seven states, beginning at 12 Noon on Sunday and ending at 1:15 AM Monday morning. Winning the top prize of $1000 was Fred Agnir from Templeton, MA. The second prize, $500 was taken by Josh Lerner from South Deerfield, MA. The third prize of $250 was captured by Stacy Lantz of Treasure Island, FL.
Tournament sponsors were The Mountain Corporation and Clarkes Distributors, Inc. McDermott Cue donated two cue sticks for the event's raffle. Local restaurants donated gift certificates for the raffle as well, including Fritz Fries, Panera Bread, Bagel Works, Nicola's Trattoria and Margarita's. The First Prize trophy was donated by Engrave-It/Awards of Keene.
The tournament raised $2,000 for The Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center. Crotched Mountain is a charitable organization employing more than 900 people. Its mission is to serve individuals with disabilities and their families, embracing personal choice and development, and building communities of mutual support. Crotched Mountain provides specialized education, rehabilitation, community, and residential support services for more than 2,000 consumers, including individuals with disabilities and the elderly, living in New England and New York.
