The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour hosted a field of fifty one players at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ this weekend for a $2000 added event.
Saturday play saw early favorites Frankie Hernandez and Karen Corr fall to the one loss side, while Ryan McCreesh, Mike Zuglan, Sean Morgan and Chris Lynch remained undefeated.
Sunday matches got underway as McCreesh defeated Zuglan 9-5 and Morgan beat Lynch 9-6. This left McCreesh and Morgan fighting it out for the hot-seat and McCreesh scoring a 9-7 win.
On the one loss side, Frankie Hernandez was on a tear. Hernandez scored win over Karen Corr, Mike Zuglan, Eddie Abraham and Sean Morgan to earn his place in the finals against McCreesh.
The first set was a close one, with Hernandez scoring the 9-7 win. The second set was even closer as the match went to hill-hill before McCreesh pocketed the final 9-ball.
McCreesh pocketed $1500 for first place, while Hernandez settled for $1080. Sean Morgan and Eddie Abraham filled out the top four spots.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Hippo's House of Billiards in Yorkville New York next week for their next event. Tour director Mike Zuglan is taking entries now for the Turning Stone Classic VIII 9-Ball Open scheduled for February 22nd - 25th, 2007. Interested players can reach Zuglan at 518-356-7163.
