Drexeline Billiards hosted the best one day tournament around, The Blaze 9 Ball Tour, on July 20th with a strong field of players. Special thanks to Bob Maidhof and his staff for hosting the event.
Leading the top half of the bracket was Ed Matushonek with wins over Mike Donato 7-5, Matt Krah 7-4, Lou Patrikios 7-5, Mike Praseutsy 7-4 and Joey Testa 7-5. Leading the bottom half of the bracket was Joe Hong with wins over Jeff Richardson 7-5, Chuck Fought Sr. 7-2, Troy Whitfield 7-5, Mike Miller 7-4, and Eddie Abraham 7-2.
Playing for the hot seat was Ed Matushonek vs Joe Hong. This was a one sided match with Ed Matushonek winning easily 7-1. But the big story was Matt Krah making his way through the one loss side by winning 9 straight matches to get to the finals.
In the finals it was Matt Krah vs Ed Matushonek. Matt Krah had to beat Ed Matushonek twice to win the tournament. Matt Krah won the first set 7-5 but Ed Matushonek was too much for Matt Krah winning the second match 6-3 to win the event.
