Just one week after her undefeated win at the BCA Junior Nationals 19 & Under Girls division, Mary Rakin was back in action July 21 and 22nd at the season opener for the Western Women's Regional Tour at Garlic City Billiards in Gilroy, California. Although she fell one game short of another undefeated run, it was another tournament win for Rakin.
Rakin cruised through the winners side with wins over Lisa Coronado, sister Michelle Rakin, Revelina Morales and Lee Stansbury to take the hot-seat.
Meanwhile, Michelle Rakin was bouncing back from her loss to Mary and cutting a path through the one loss side. Michelle had wins over Mai Schieck, Eleanor Collado, Patty West, Morales and Stansbury to earn another shot at Mary in the finals.
The first set of the double elimination finals say Michelle score a hill-hill win over Mary, but the second was all Mary with a 7-2 win.
