Lisa Marr ended the 2002 Hunter Classics Women't Tour season with a great string of three straight tournament wins. This season, Lisa's best finish so far was 5th place in Austin TX. If the players on the tour thought Lisa had gone away, she proved them all wrong this weekend at Legends in League City Texas.
Marr went undefeated through play on Saturday, but fell to Rachel Hurst for the hot-seat on Sunday. Anyone who is familar with Lisa, knows that the second loss is a lot harder to hand her than the first. Leslie Anne Rogers came close to giving Marr loss #2, but dropped the case game at hill-hill to allow Marr into the finals for the rematch with Hurst.
Marr would have to beat Hurst twice in the finals for the tournament win, but that is exactly what she did twice last season during her run. Marr started the finals with a dominating 7-2 win over Hurst, and followed that up with an even more dominating 7-1 win.
Marr commented after the tournament that she started her run of three wins last season with a double dip win in the 5th event of the season. "They should start calling me Vanilla Chip Double Dip" Lisa exclaimed. "I've been going through some things this year, but after today I know that I am hitting them good again" continued Lisa. Lisa wanted to give extra thanks to her sponsor Jones Brothers Pool Tables in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Hunter Tour's next event will be a WPBA Qualifier at Pool Sharks in Las Vegas, NV on September 20th - 21st.
