The third stop of the 2007/2008 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Greenfields Pool & Sports Bar in Lakewood, CO, on Saturday, October 13. The $1,000 added event drew twenty-six players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes. Mark Haddad (Westminster, CO) ran undefeated to the finals. In the hot-seat match, Haddad slipped by Sam Cordova (Pueblo, CO) 5-4. Earlier in the A-bracket semi-finals, Haddad outplayed Ray Padilla (Denver, CO) on the hill 5-4, while Cordova eclipsed Kevin Williams (Pueblo, CO) 5-4. In the elimination bracket Jim Calderon (Colorado Springs, CO) stopped Sam Martinez (Pueblo, CO) at 7th place by a 5-3 margin, while Bill Skinner (Aurora, CO) eliminated Frank Urbaniak (Colorado Springs, CO) at the same placement 5-1. Calderon and Skinner then dispatched Padilla and Williams into 5th place by respective scores of 5-2 and 5-1. In the loser's semifinals Skinner toppled Calderon 5-1, and Bill kept his hot hand in the B-side finals by ousting Cordova 5-0. In the tourney finals, Mark Haddad neutralized Bill Skinner's momentum, took control early in the tourney finals and never looked back to eclipse Skinner by a 5-1 margin for the title!
By virtue of Bill Skinner being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 8-ball singles entry into the 2008 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.
