Marlon Manalo completed an undefeated run to win the 2005 Reno Open.
Manalo captured the hot-seat with a 9-7 win over Shawn Putnam, but it was Tony Chohan that came out of the one loss side to face Manalo in the finals. Chohan had lost to Putnam 9-1 on the winners side, but turned the tables with a 9-8 win over Putnam on the left side of the board.
Early in the finals, Chohan looked like he would be the first person to hand Manalo a loss as he led the match 6-2. That lead would soon disappear as Manalo won the next 7 games for the 9-6 win.
Manalo earned $12,000 for first while Chohan settled for $5,400.
