Round two of the IPT World Open 8-Ball Championship is complete. While round one saw the early elimination of North American 8-Ball Champion Thorsten Hohmann, round two was the elimination of North American 8-Ball Runner-up Marlon Manalo. Manalo was not the only top player who was sent to the bleachers early after Tuesday's matches. Other top players eliminated include Earl Strickland, Mike Sigel, Dennis Hatch, Santos Sambajon, George Breedlove and Evgeny Stalev. The ladies did not fare well in round two with none of them advancing to round three.
Gabe Owen, Mika Immonen, Francisco Bustamante, Mick Hill and Karl Boyes all retained their perfect records from round one and won all of their second round matches.
The US Players are very dominant in round three with 19 of the final 60 players. The Filipino players continue their stellar play with nine of the final sixty players hailing from the Phillipines.
