Magpantay, Mendoza Enter Last 32 in WPA Call Shot Ten-Ball

BANSUD, Oriental Mindoro wunderkind Jonas Magpantay and Mandaluyong City pride Paul Mendoza booked Final 32 spots with big victories on Sunday in the on-going preliminaries round of WPA Call Shot Ten-Ball Division C tournament at the Pool Fusion Billiards Bar and Café at No.529 Alonzo St, Adriatico in Malate, Manila.

The 14-year-old Magpantay, a grade six-pupil of Pedro Tuazon Elementary School in Cubao hammered Bryan Mallabo, 7-2, and Aldreen Pajares, 7-4, to top the Group D division in this event hosted by sportsman Hans Lu in close cooperation with BSCP founding chairman and veteran internationalists Edgar "Malabon" Acaba.

While the 19-year-old Mendoza, a 3rd year BS Nursing Student of St. Mary's College in San Juan trounced Patrick Clavel, 7-4, and Pablo Hizon, 7-5, to dominate the Group G division in this Single Knock-out affair.

Joining them in the last 32 were Mark Jemm Roquid, Wilford Bautista, Edwin and Nolan Carganilla, JP Sy, Jassen Chua, Elvin Laurente, Boby Rabe and Caloy Policarpio.
