The California Billiard Club in Mountain View California was full days before this weekend's Seminole Pro Tour Event. The room drew a field of 64 players for the California One Pocket Challenge, that kicked off on Wednesday.
Looking at the brackets early, the names Frost and Ochoa immediately jumped out as early favorites, but Frost dropped a 3-1 match to Louis Ulrich and Ochoa was sent to the one loss side by Brandon Shuff. Shuff would go on to compete for the hot-seat, but lost to Alex "The Lion" Pagulayan 3-1.
On the one loss side, Frost won matches over Frank Nordmann and Diego Vidal before facing off against Ochoa. That match went Frost's way 3-2 and Frost would go on a run after that match. Four straight wins with a combined score of 12-3 was Frost's ticket to the finals against Alex Pagulayan.
Even with all of Frost's one pocket experience, he did not have an answer for Pagulayan as Alex took the final match 3-0 for first place.
Most of the players in the one pocket division are now battling it out in the Seminole Pro Tour's 10-Ball event at California Billiard Club.
