Day two is complete at the 2003 Pokerempire.com World Pool Masters, and Alex Lely came back from a 7-4 deficit to upset former World Champion Mika Immonen 8-7 and earn a spot in the final four on Sunday.
Earlier matches on Saturday featured some surprising results. Tony Drago earned a little vengeance over Alex Pagulayan who eliminated him from the recent World Champions in Cardiff. Drago crushed Alex 8-3 this time. Another surprising match saw rising star Nick van den Berg earn a hard fought 8-6 win over Francisco Bustamante.
Drago will face van den Berg on Sunday in one of the three quarter final matches. The other two matches will see Earl Strickland renew his longtime rivalry with Efren Reyes and reigning World Champion Thorsten Hohmann take on Hui-kai Hsia from Chinese Taipei.
