March 14, 2007 – Lakeland, Florida – Some of the best female 9-ball pool players in the country will descend upon Wally's Billiards and Sportsroom, 1136 E. Main Street, in Lakeland on March 17-18 to take part in the 2nd stop of the Ladies Spirit Tour (LST). The Florida-based LST is the only Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA)-sanctioned tour in the state and is widely considered the best Pro-Am tour in North America.
The women will be vying for more than $2,000 in prize money and a coveted paid entry spot (worth $500) into the next WPBA tournament. Spirit Tour events typically boast a mix of WPBA professionals, including several players ranked in the top-25, the best semi-professional players in Florida, and skilled recreational players looking to test their mettle against some of the greatest 9-ball pool players in the region.
Individual entry into the event requires a $50 tournament fee and a $15 registration fee. New players to the tour must pay a $50 membership fee. The Player's Meeting will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, with play to commence immediately afterward.
The Ladies Spirit Tour will hold 9 events in 2007 throughout the state, including the Florida State Championship (Sept. 8-9) and the 2007 Grand Finale (November 3-4), both of which will be held in Spring Hill, Florida, just north of the Tampa/St. Petersburg area.
