Firstly, I apologize for not getting this message out to you sooner. The hope was that we would in some way be able to salvage the tour and get events together for 2011; however, due to a variety of issues (WPBA changes, less WPBA events, KFT man-power, etc.) it is in the best interest of the KFT to dissolve until further notice. The KFT is/was the most competitive regional tour in the World and it was also one of the highest prize money tours. So, this decision did not come easily for those that have been involved in running and supporting this Tour, and we presume that many of you will be disappointed, as well.
We'd like to congratulate Katie Cowan, who will be representing the KFT as the #1 seed at this year's Regional Tour Championship in Houston this coming weekend. Also, congrats to Lisa Cossette, Marianne Merrill, and Cheryl Pritchard, who will be representing KFT in Houston. We wish all of you the best of luck in your hope to earn a spot on the WPBA tour.
Thank you to everyone who has made the Kwikfire Tour a success. Players, fans, media, poolroom owners: Max Terry, who first believed in the KFT; Bob and Janice Toth for providing two events in 2010 which allowed the KFT players to qualify for the RTC; and Chris and Sandra Aldridge, who treated all of us like family; and a special thank you to our title sponsor, Kwikfire Cues', Kelly and Val, who made every event possible with their generation donations and support.
We will be sure to inform everyone if/when Kwikfire Tour resumes in future.
Thank you for your time.
