Thank you to Westgate Lanes in Brockton, MA for hosting the 6th stop of the “Rack ‘EM Up” New England 9 Ball Tour. This was our first stop ever at Westgate Lanes and it proved to be a successful day. Thanks to all of the players who also helped make another full field possible. Now for the results:
A few new names worked their way into the final four on the winner's side. Our brand new player Mike Taylor faced seasoned tournament veteran Kevin Bauccio. Bauccio's experience suited him well, earning him a spot in the hot-seat match and sending Taylor to the one-loss side. Also in the final four, Joey Dupuis took down Charlie Matarazzo to also advance to the hot seat match.
Bauccio was on fire on this Sunday afternoon, defeating Dupuis to earn himself the coveted hot-seat honors.
Meanwhile on the one-loss side, Kevin Sun was having a great day making his way through the bracket to the quarterfinal match. Unfortunately for Sun, Charlie Matarazzo was on a come-back after his defeat to Dupuis. Matarazzo defeated Sun to move on to the semi-final round.
Matarazzo faced off Joey Dupuis to attempt to earn a spot in the final match of the day. Those efforts feel slightly short, allowing Dupuis to advance into the finals.
Dupuis took advantage of this true double elimination tournament, defeating Bauccio in the first round of the finals. However, Bauccio was not giving up that easily. He fought back in the second round and won the hill-hill match.
Congratulations to Kevin Bauccio for taking home the title of tournament champion.
