In this ever-changing pool world, the regional women's tours continue to change alongside the WPBA. One such tour that keeps making a splash on the east coast sending many of the top regional players to the pro circuit is the J. Pechauer Custom Cues Northeast Women's 9-Ball Tour (JPNEWT). Director/Coordinator Linda Haywood Shea is making every effort to provide the women of the mid-Atlantic region a place to compete even during these tough economic times. The outcome thus far, the tour continues to grow leaps and bounds with the field increasing at every event.
If you haven't made it out to one of the JPNEWT events, your chance to do so is just around the corner. Next up for the tour is Primetime Bar & Grill in Sayreville, New Jersey (www.ptsportsbar.com). The approximately $3000 added WPBA US Open qualifier entitled the New Jersey State 9-Ball Championships will be held July 18-19, 2009, beginning with a mandatory player's meeting at 11 a.m. (room opens at 9 a.m.) The event is open to ALL women player's so if history repeats itself, several names within the brackets will be from the WPBA roster which always adds a competitive spirit to the ladies on tour.
