Chicago, Illinois- Championship Cloth is proud to announce they have selected Johnny Archer as their new professional spokesperson for their company. The 4x World Champion and BCA Hall of Famer has already been using Championship Cloth on his poolroom tables at the Marietta Billiard Club since last year. Johnny Archer will be appearing this week at the Championship Cloth booth at the Super Billiards Expo, taking on challengers and meeting fans.
"Championship Cloth is a great American manufacturer and supporter of American pool. They make superb professional cloth that seems to last forever and all my customers love it. I'm really happy to represent such a great company and help them continue to support our sport", said Johnny Archer. Johnny also represents Scorpion Cues and is managed by Dragon Promotions.
"When I heard there was a lack of sponsors and support of American pool and American pool players, I wanted to do something about it. When it came time to select a player, we knew there could only be one choice" , said Fred Cohen, President of Championship LLC.
Archer has been arguably the most successful professional player of the past 2 decades. He has won the US Open 9-Ball, The Derby City 9-Ball, the BCA Open, the World Championships, and countless other titles. He has been ranked in the top 5 in the USA for nearly his entire career even till now. Most recently he was honored by the Guiness Book of World Records for his 15 consecutive appearances of the Mosconi Cup for the USA. Johnny has competed and won titles around the world including Netherlands, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, England, the United States and many more.
"Johnny Archer is the most celebrated pool player in modern American history. He's been using our cloth already since last year at his poolroom and transitioned over all his tables to Championship Cloth. So we already knew he believed in our product. But Johnny is a leader on and off the pool table, he symbolizes the epitome of a champion. What better fit then with us, Championship", said Mike Serra, Vice-President of Championship Cloth and Chairman of the Billiard Congress of America.
