The second qualifier of the Canadian 30k Tour held at Bigwigs Billiards in New Market Ontario on August 11, 2007 brought players out of the sun to take advantage of this two for one stop. This qualifier counted as two stops, helping players lower their penalties. The gathering was mid-range in handicaps with Klatt, Hjorleifson, Solleveld and Kluznik being the top guns.
The match for the “hot seat” had Jason Klatt (9+) against Ryan James (6). Klatt put it away quickly sending Ryan James to grind it out on the one-loss side. On the one-loss side, Brad Lucas (5) defeated Hal Borchardt (5) and Erik Hjorleifson defeated Randy Fawcett. In the next match, Brad Lucas was triumphant over Erik Hjorleifson defeating him 5-6. Hjorleifson finished 4th with Fawcett and Borchardt finishing 5th/6th. Ryan James made quick work of Lucas, earning his passage back to the final rounds.
However, the finals belonged to only one and Jason Klatt had his name written all over it. Klatt steam rolled over Ryan James winning the second qualifier - James finished 2nd. Congratulations to Jason Klatt and Ryan James on this well earned victory.
