This past weekend, December 5th-7th, twenty-one players made their way to the $1250 added Grady's Legends of One Pocket at Grady's establishment in Lexington, South Carolina. The field included such names as Jared McGee, Scott Rabon, Cliff Joyner, Boyd Bouknight, Brian White, Jason “J-Bird” Brown, and Grady Mathews. But it would be Jason Brown that would topple the notable names on-hand to take home the $1000 prize.
Brown ended the weekend with only one loss and seven wins to ensure he would be crowned champ, with his one loss coming from Scott Rabon 4-2 Saturday evening. Brown started the day by besting David Carver 4-3 and Jeff Peele 4-0 prior to being dropped by Rabon. From there, he was victorious over Cliff Joyner 3-2, Josh Roberts 3-2, and Norris Brady 3-2 to get back to Rabon on Sunday evening in which he returned the favor, leaving Rabon to settle for second place with an identical score from their first match 4-2.
The event was played on nine foot tables, races to 4W/3L, with a $100 entry.
