Fast Eddies Olhausen 9 Ball Tour sponsored by Schuler Legacy Cues Held it's May event on the 5-6th at Fast Eddies Culebra location in San Antonio Texas.
The Open event drew 68 players from the region and as usual this was a very competitive event.
Top picks were Jeremy Jones, James Davis Sr., Sylver Ochoa, Vivian Villarreal, and Al {Little Al} Mason.
Finishing in the 13-16 positions were, Ali Affas, Tony Hinojosa, Chelo Velasquez, and Sylver Ochoa. Each received $130.00 for their efforts and they played very well.
Receiving $160.00 for their 9-12 finishes were Bananas Medrano, Bill Kester, Chris White and Candy Ramos. Each fought hard fights.
Paying $440.00 for 7-8th saw Joey Caruso and Vivian Villarreal prevail. Both played hard and were very entertaining.
The 5-6th slots belonged to Al Mason and Manual Ayala. There were some hard battles here and each played superbly as they collected $600.00 each for their weekends work.
Robert Stewart finished in 4th place and earned each and every match. Robert always gives it his "all". Robert took home $945.00 for a job well done.
Third place belonged to none other than the TD himself Paul Blank. Paul has been playing more lately and it really showed with his smooth and consistent play. Paul collected $1350.00 for his nice finish.
Shane Harvey showed signs of the past this weekend as well by winning the hot seat and waiting for James Davis in the finals. Shane had a great weekend, but just ran out of gas toward the finals. Still, he played great and took home $2000 for the weekend.
James Davis just keeps on ticking and ticking. He does it with very solid and determined play. If you make mistakes against him, he is going to punish you.
James double dipped Shane and captured $2900 for his incredible weekend.
This concluded the May event for 2007 and we are off until June when we head to the newly built Fast Eddies in Odessa as they continue to grow and grow.
Each event would seem lonely without our faithful vendors, Ron of The Custom Cue Connection, Jack of Mystick Cues, Roby and Jeff of Behind the 8 Ball, and Paul of S&S cues. There is also Duffy and Mitch of the Duffy Rack.
Olhausen and Schuler Cues are here every month and it is difficult to express how appreciative we are for their support and generosity. They are simply the BEST.
A special thanks to the GM of Culebra, Bob Hamilton. This is where we started and Bob always does a great job and has a great staff.
Lastly, but, hardly least, thanks to Fast Eddies, where Life is meant to be good. This is our fifth year and we greatly appreciate them and the loyalty.
So, until June in Odessa, everyone have fun in Las Vegas and win lots of money.
