So you wanna play pool with the big boys or be competitive with some of your peers on the east coast in nothing short of a fun-packed ten day pool getaway – well, the time of year has come again for the 2008 Carolina Open. The interesting part – this year, Fast Eddie's Sports Bar and Grill located at 1308 Parkway Drive, Goldsboro, North Carolina (919-759-0071 or website) will be hosting the Jacoby Custom Cues Carolina Tour Season Finale just prior to the Open, so there are ten full days of action packed pool playing/spectating for all involved AND the venue will remain open non-stop from October 3rd-October 12th (quite frankly, who could beat that – it is pool heaven for those of us that love the sport!) So to get down to the nitty gritty, here is the breakdown for the time frame noted above – come out and support Fast Eddie's for being such a gracious host:

$250 added based on thirty-two players

Carolina Open One-Pocket Tournament
October 7th-8th, 12pm (mandatory player meeting October 7th 12pm)
$5000 added based on sixty-four players, currently limited to 128 players
Entry $100 ($85 tourney fee, $15 greens fee)
Races to 3, finals one race to five (double elimination)
Carolina Open Ten-Ball Tournament
October 9th-12th, 12pm (mandatory player meeting October 9th 12pm)
$10,000 added based on 128 players, currently limited to 128 players
Entry $200 ($175 tourney fee, $25 green fees)
Races to 11W/11L, finals one race to fifteen
Some players that should be on the scene: Sparky Ferrell, Mike Davis, Michael Fuller, Arnold Hamlet, Sam Monday, B. J. Ussery, Larry Faulk, Phillip Richardson, Rodney Morris, Bruce Bullard, Sidney Champion, Larry Nevel, Karen Webb, Earl Strickland, Johnny Archer and Scott Frost.
The equipment for the Open will be nine foot Gold Crown tables and 860 Simonis Cloth. With the dress code remaining casual (with the exception of sweat suits as they are not allowed). Cue repairs, break contests, Texas Hold-Em tournaments, and other activities will be available throughout the week+ with cookouts every night. For you smokers out there, smoking is allowed as well.
