Sharks-N-Shooters in Rocky Mount, which is about 45 minutes east of Raleigh, is the place to be this weekend (February 9-10, 2008) for the latest Jacoby Custom Cues Carolina Tour. The room owner, James Gray, recently recovered all of the tables with 860 Simonis and they look great.
The main event will start at 1:00 on Saturday (sign up by 12:30). Entry fee is $65 plus $10 tour fee if you don't have a current tour card with the exception of ladies and juniors – they do not pay for tour cards this year. The event will guarantee $1000 added with $1000 for 1st place plus entry into the 2008 Carolina Open courtesy of Fast Eddie's.
In addition to the main event, Friday night at 7:00 p.m. the tour will have an Early Bird Tournament that will be open to all players and is only $25 to enter. Double Elimination, races to 5 - otherwise, the format is the same as the Main Event. Also, on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., there will be a Second Chance Tournament that is also open to all players. Same as Early Bird Tournament except it is Single Elimination.
The Juniors will play at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. After the first ten tournaments of the Jacoby Tour, the Juniors with the most points in each of the four divisions will qualify for Junior Nationals next summer. The $20 entry fee is waived if entered in Main Event.
Tour Director, Doug Ennis, will have a $550 Jacoby that will be raffled, along with OB-1 shaft demos for players to try out on your cue while at the event. If you purchase an OB-1 shaft at the tournament, you will receive a special price of $180, which is up to $50 off of retail.
If you are traveling to the event, the tour is working on a discounted rate with one of the local hotels but those details are not available at the time of this release. For additional information on this or any stop scheduled for the tour, visit the website at www.rockcitypromotions.com
