Jack Davis Wins Virginia Beach Tour Stop

Bill Mason, Dave Perry, Jack Davis and Bill Duggan

The twenty-second stop of the 2006/2007 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) featured a $1,000 added purse with forty-two players and was hosted by Southern Amusement and tournament director Mike Wilson at Smokies in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Saturday, February 24. The event included a double-elimination 9-ball format on bar boxes, and Bill Duggan (Va. Beach, VA) ran undefeated to the finals. In the hot-seat match, Duggan clipped Jack Davis (Va. Beach, VA) 5-4. Earlier in the A-bracket semi-finals, Duggan had out pointed Dave Perry (Va. Beach, VA) 5-3, while Jack Davis knocked off Jerry Grant (Newport News, VA) 5-2. In the B-side quarterfinals, Bill Mason ousted Jerry Grant 5-1, and Dave Perry knocked out Dan Losh (Va. Beach, VA) 5-1. Perry then ousted Mason 5-2 in the B-side semis, but Dave was then eliminated in the B-side finals by Jack Davis 5-4. Jack Davis had to defeat Bill Duggan two sets for the title, and he succeeded on the hill by the count of 5-0 and 5-4!

By virtue of 1st-place Jack Davis being the highest-finishing ACS member, he qualified for a free singles entry into the 2007 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.
