The Southeast Amateur Ladies Tour got their 2004 season underway with 39 players at The Pool Room in Marietta, GA.
Janet Atwell, who ended the 2003 season with four straight tour victories, took the hot-seat with a 7-5 win over Lisa Marr.
On the one-loss side, Tracie Hines (formerly Tracie Majors) was sennding Christy Norris to the bleachers with a 4th place finish. This set up Hines vs Marr for the chance to face Atwell in the finals. This match was a great one, that was finally won by Hines 7-6.
Hines played nearly perfect 9-ball in the finals and kept the pressue on Atwell the entire match. Hines capitalized on every small mistake made by Atwell and pulled out to an early lead. Hines finally won the match 9-4, for the tournament win.
Hines collected $516 for first place, while Atwell settled for $401 in second place prize money. Marr and Norris filled out the top four spots.
