The 14th Stop of the Hampton Ridge 9 ball tour was held at PJ'S billiards in Linden NJ and once again it was a strong field lead by Frankie Hernandez, Josh Brothers, Matt Krah, and Mike Davis.
Frankie went through the field with ease and earned a chance to play for the hot seat against Matt Krah. Carmen Lombardo and Mike Davis played to see who would settle for 7th and who would move on, Mike Davis won 7-4. On the other half of the bracket it was Christain Smith playing Forty, Forty came up short giving Christain a 7-4 win leaving Forty in 7th place.
Mike Davis next match was against young Josh Brothers, Josh got into stroke and ran away with the match 7-3 giving Mike 5th place, on the other side of the bracket it was Christain Smith playing Trenton Marty. Christain brought his A game and defeated Trenton Marty 7-4 giving Marty a 5th place finish.
Christain's run came to an end when he met up with Josh Brothers, Josh was in dead stroke winning easliy 7-1. giving Christain 4rd place.
On the winners side it was Frankie Hernandez playing against Matt Krah. It was a good match but Frankie was a little to strong for Matt winning the match 7-5 and getting the hot seat. Matt went to the one loss side where Josh was waiting. This too was a good match, Josh took an early lead and held on winning 7-5.
The finals was Frankie Hernandez vs Josh Brothers. Josh jumped out ahead 2-0, Frankie came back to make it 2-2, Josh took the next 2 making it 4-2, Frankie wasn't going to give up he won the next 3 giving him a 5-4 lead. Josh could only win 2 more games before Frankie stepped it up. Frankie won his first Hampton Ridge 9 ball stop 9-6. Lots of great matches were played, players to watch out for in the future are Kent Wuethrich, Wali Muhammad, Reggie Harrell, Gerard Soriano.
