The Swedish pool player Henrik Larsson is the WPA´s World Wheelchair Champion 2003 in both 9-ball and 8-ball.
The Championships was held Oct. 28 – Nov. 01 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Participants from four different continents came to fight for the title.
In the 9-ball event Henrik moved on to the final stages without facing any real difficulties. Takahiro Terada from Japan was the final opponent, and after a close opening Henrik set the pace by winning 7 straight games, after which the Japanese couldn't catch up, making the final score 11-5. In 8-ball, Henrik was undefeated in the group stages and went on to beat Taiwanese Chu Shou-Wei 5-3 in the final.
Henrik Larsson, 32, from Stockholm, is the only active wheelchair pool player in Sweden, where he is ranked among the top ten able-bodied elite players. His list of achievements includes 7 times European Champion, 2000 US Nationals Champion and runner up in 2002 WPA World Wheelchair Championships among others. He's also known for his trick shot skills and has been seen on ESPN and Sky Sport on numerous occasions.
