Dave Hemmah turned in a top level performance to win the Pechauer West Coast Tour's 2005 Season Finale at Hard Times Billiards in Sacramento, CA over the weekend.
During his run through the winners side, Hemmah had notable wins over Gilbert Arellano, Oscar Dominguez, Gerardo Jamito, and Fach Garcia before a 9-7 win over Billy Palmer for the hot-seat.
On the one loss side, Palmer ran into Ismael Paez who had been laying waste to the one loss side ever since losing to Palmer earlier in the tournament. Paez had 4 wins on the left side of the board but still couldn't get the best of Palmer and lost a second time to Palmer 9-4.
The rematch between Hemmah and Palmer in the finals looked great on paper, but turned out to be a case of one player getting into a groove and being unstopable. Hemmah took complete control and cruised to an 13-2 win in the finals.
The tournament win earned Hemmah $2800 and moved him to third place on the tour's points list. Billy Palmer settled for $2000 in second place prize money. Glenn Atwell and Tinsley Johnson ended the season as #1 and #2 on the points list.
The Pechauer Tour will start the new season with a $2000 added event at Breaktime Billiards in Tigard, OR on Dec 3rd-4th.
