February 6th on N. W. Military in San Antonio, 25 ladies gathered to hunt the evasive 9 balls on the green cloth and have fun at Fast Eddie's World Class Billiards.
Top picks were Amanda Lampert, Leslie Anne Rogers, Heather Pulford, Michelle Abernathy and Kim Pierce.
Finishing a 5-6th were Kawania Watson of San Antonio and Nicole Menitz of Austin.
Tara McCracken finished in the fourth spot. Tara started with a win over Michelle Cortez, but was quickly sent west by Shayla Neris. Not the quitter, Tara bounced back to defeat Corina Campbell, Mollie Pearl, Sophie Lopez, Helen Hayes and Nicole Menitz. She was forced to settle for fourth by Kyu Yi, a California transplant with a powerful game now living in San Antonio.
Third place went to Kyu (pronounced 'Cue') Yi. Her day consisted of wins over Leslie Anne Rogers and Helen Hayes before being derailed by Amanda Lampert. Once on the left side, Kyu handled Tara but was finally dismissed by Heather. We will be hearing more from her in the future.
Amanda Lampert of San Antonio is always tough and marked her presence with wins over Audra Carter, Stephanie Reyes, Sophie Lopez, Kyu and Heather Pulford to grab the hot seat.
Heather Pulford of Austin had wins over Yvette Cox, Mollie Pearl and Nicole Menitz before being sent to the brutal bracket by Amanda in the finals of the winner's bracket. There, she faced off and was victorious over Kyu to again face Amanda in the finals.
The battle was set with the always smiling Heather proved a bit to much defeating Amanda in two sets, 7-4, 7-4. Great shooting by both ladies!
