In an area that is not known to be “bank pool” territory, Grady Mathews is making an effort to show people just what they are missing out on this weekend at his establishment, Grady's, in Lexington, South Carolina.
Included in the round-up are the likes of Josh Roberts, Brian White, Red Calhoun, Shannon Lundy, Scott Rabon, Grady Mathews, Matthew Dugger, and Kevin Brown. Although the field was smaller than anticipated, that did not make a difference in the way of competition or in the fact that the $1000 added money was still up for grabs.
The nine-foot table, races to five, double elimination event will continue through Sunday, with winner side matches Saturday at 2 p.m. between Josh Roberts and Scott Rabon; and Grady Mathews and Kevin Brown. The one-loss side will pit Shannon Lundy against Brian White and Matthew Dugger against Red Calhoun initially.
To get to this point, we have seen Roberts defeat White 5-3; Rabon down Lundy 5-0; Mathews best Calhoun 5-2; and Brown overcome Dugger 5-1.
Payouts for the event begin at $700 for first; $400 for second; and $220 for third.
If you are in the area, stop in and watch some great competition brewing. For additional information, contact the venue directly at (803) 957-7665.
