Glenn Atwell from Aloha Oregon came back from the one-loss side to defeat Canadian Tyler Edey 5-4 and 5-0 and win the 8-Ball division of the 10th Annual US Bar Table Championship in Reno, NV.
The match for the hot-seat in this full field of 128 players came down to Edey and Nick Kruger, who are teammates on an 8-ball team out of Calgary. Twenty two year old Edey came out the winner in that match and awaited his opponent, knowing he would have to be beaten twice by that opponent.
His opponent, Glenn Atwell, lost to Felix Lukenbill earlier in the event but came back through the one-loss side scoring victory after victory to make his way to the finals. The first set went to hill-hill before Atwell dropped the final 8-ball for the 5-4 victory. The second set was all Atwell as he rolled to the 5-0 victory.
Atwell collected $5000 for first, while Edey settled for $3000 for second. Kruger and Jesse Bowman filled out the top four spots.
