The field may have been small, but it was packed with talent at the Mezz Women's Tour stop at Amsterdam Billiards in New York on Saturday, July 23rd. The field included such notables as Gail Glazebrook, Supadra Geronimo, Caroline Pao, Yomaylin Feliz and Emily Duddy.
Gail Glazebrook and Supadra Geronimo both had to bring their A-games to earn their spots in the match for the hot-seat. Glazebrook got past Caroline Pao 7-4, Jennifer Epstein 7-3, and Allie Shaffer 7-5, while Geronimo earned wins over Debra Prictchett 7-3, and Emily Duddy 7-1.
Glazebrook earned the hot-seat with a close 7-5 win over Geronimo, but Geronimo was not to be denied as she eliminated Yomaylin Feliz hill-hill on the left side to earn another shot at Glazebrook in the finals.
The true double elimination final saw Geronimo earn a hill-hill win over Glazebrook in the first set, and a slightly more comfortable 6-4 over Glazebrook in the second set for the tournament win.
