Ga-Young Kim went undefeated to win the Ladies Spirit Tour event at Breakers Billiards in N. Lauderdale Florida.
Kim started play on Sunday with a 7-1 win over Amy Poulter and followed that up with a 7-3 win over Ming Ng for the hot-seat.
Meanwhile, on the one-loss side, Jeannie Seaver was charting a path to the finals from a different direction. Seaver started Sunday with a 7-2 win over Helene Caukin, then a 7-3 win over Amy Poulter. A 7-3 win over Hsin Huang send Seaver to the semi-finals against Ming Ng.
Ming took an early three rack lead, but Seaver always plays comfortable while trailing and before long, it was Seaver with a two rack lead. Ming fought back to even the score at hill-hill, but it was Seaver who pocketed the final 9-ball to move into the finals against Kim.
The match-up of Kim vs Seaver is one that the fans have seen a few times this season and it did not disappoint this time. Seaver led most of the way, but Kim clawed her way back to hill-hill. Neither player seemed able to close out the game with both players missing the 9-ball in the final rack. In the end, Kim made the 9-ball to score the tournament victory.
Kim pocketed $375 for first place and Seaver settled for $225 for second. The WPBA Nationals qualifier went to Seaver since Kim will be out of the country on those dates. Ming Ng and Hsin Huang filled out the top four spots.
The Ladies Spirit Tour finale will be at Capone's Billiards and Lounge in Spring Hill, FL on November 15th - 16th.
