Ga Young Kim dominated the field at the J. Pechauer NorthEast Women's Tour WPBA Qualifier held at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ.
Kim captured the hot-seat with a 7-2 win over Jennifer Barretta that took all of 30 minutes. By this time, Kim knew she had already won the WPBA qualifier for Peoria since she was the only player in the final four that was eligible.
Barretta eliminated Liz Schwartzreich 7-3 to earn another shot at Kim, but had no answer for Kim's aggressive and free-wheeling play. Kim raced to a 6-0 lead in the final race to 9 before Barretta was able to get on the scoreboard, and went ahead to win the match 9-1 in 35 minutes.
Kim collected $450 plus the qualifier for Peoria, while Barretta settled for $350 in prize money. Schwartzreich and Ellie Chang filled out the top 4 spots.
The J. Pechauer NorthEast Women's Tour's next event will be the NJ State 8-Ball Championships at Castle Billiards in East Rutherford, NJ on June 21st - 22nd.
