Full Field for Season Opener of the “Rack ‘EM Up” New England 9 Ball Tour

The beautiful September day did not keep the players away from the season opener of the “Rack ‘EM Up” New England 9 Ball Tour. On September 12th, 64 players showed up at Bo's Bar & Billiards in Warwick, RI to attempt to be the first victor of the season.

The players to beat on this day turned out to be Rich Minichello and Kevin Bauccio, who reached the hot seat match. Minichello defeated Bauccio and sent him to await his opponents in the one loss side. Meanwhile Liz Taylor and Roarke Dickson, as well as Josh Gormly and Chris Leal were all battling to advance to the quarterfinal round. Gormly and Dickson proved too much for their opponents, defeating them and advancing to the next round to face each other.

In a hill-hill match, Dickson made a nice kick out of a safe, sinking the 8-ball in the side pocket, and leaving a straight in 9-ball shot. He moved on to face Kevin Bauccio in the semi-final round. The wait for an opponent proved to be too much for Bauccio. Dickson defeated him, advancing to the final round against hot seat winner Rich Minichello.

Despite his long wait, Minichello was too strong for Dickson to take down. Congratulations to our tournament winner, Rich Minichello, on a day of great playing.

Our raffle winner of a McDermott cue and a 2-shaft, one butt case was Jon Marcinko. Our “Break and Run” pot winners were Dave Norton and Joey Dupuis. We still have a huge break and run pot left over for the next tournament on October 3rd at Snookers in Providence, RI. Don't miss out!
