The Arizona Women's Billiards Tour was in action at Pockets Billiards in Tucson Arizona for a WPBA qualifier.
The hot seat was taken by former Arizona resident Jane Fujinaga who did not let an opponent past four games on her way to the hotseat in the race to seven format.
AWBT President Susan Williams was one of the players that Fujinaga dispatched on her way to the hot-seat, and it was Williams that came from the one-loss side to take her shot at Fujinaga in the double elimination finals. It was only fitting that Williams would beat Fujinaga by the score of 7-4 in the first set of the finals.
The final set was neck and neck until the 3-3 mark when Fujinaga rattled off four games to score the 7-3 win over Williams.
Fujinana earned $286 in addition to the WPBA qualifier, while Williams settled for $194 in second place prize money. Diana Clayton and Mary Moench filled out the top four spots.
The second chance tournament on Sunday was won by Marita Incalcaterra who defeated Jeri Engh 4-3 and 4-1 in the finals. Third place was taken by last month's main event winner Meiko Yamanobe. Incalcaterra won $44 for first place.
The AWBT Tour will be at Metro Sportz Bar in Phoenix on August 28th-29th for their next event.
