In the one pocket division at the Derby City Classic, Dee Adkins defeated Scott Frost to eliminate Frost. In the other one-pocket match, Jose Parica handed Larry Nevel his first loss of the event. Nevel will buy back in to leave Adkins, Parica and Nevel moving into the next round where one them will get a bye.
There were a few upsets in round three of the nine-ball division. Bob Fannin upset Corey Deuel and Keith McCready came out of the gate with a five pack to defeat Jimmy Wetch. Tony Annigoni defeated Amar Kang 7-6 and Richie Richeson defeated Danny Harriman in other third round action.
Round four of the nine-ball division is underway with 114 players still with a shot at the nine-ball title. Marquee matchups in round four include Buddy Hall vs Ronnie Alcano, David Matlock vs Nick Varner and Charlie Williams vs Mike Davis.
